Metacognate was conceived and created by bassist, vocalist, composer, and lyricist Nate Wilson , who combines his own talents with those of vocalist Eliza Lampert, guitarists Richard Heller (left channel) and Gabe Kuchan (right channel), and drummer Vince Lohnes.

In The Wake Of Insomnia is the culmination of a years-long journey of regret, hopelessness, self-reflection, perseverance, and eventual growth. Expressed through a uniquely dynamic and meticulously calculated progressive metal soundscape, the album displays the full heart and the full mind of the creator, resulting in a deeply personal yet broadly relevant work.
